Tango Charlie

This is my first review here on Mouth shut and here it goes--

#Tango Charlie stars Ajay Devgan and Bobby Deol in the main roles as Muhammad Ali and Tarun Chopra a.k.a Tango Charlie. At the start of the movie, 2 officers Suniel Shetty and Sanjay Dutt are scanning the country side in Kashmir and find dead bodies of militants.....Just as they murmur Good riddance and are about to leave......a hand floats up asking for help.

#That hand belongs to none other than Tarun Chopra, who is the lone Indian to survive. The 2 officers take him in their helicopter and proceed to the nearest hospital. On the way Suniel chances upon the diary of Tarun and starts recounting the incidents from it one by one...and hence the story starts....

#The movie revolves around the lives of BSF, the border security force and the sacrifices they make to make our living peaceful. The story moves along well, recounting the missions of tarun along with Ajay Devgan.

#The only hitch and a major one at that is the love story developed for both the lead characters. If that could have been woven into the script like say Lakshya, thefilm would have been even better. The love interest of Bobby is Tanishaa and that of Ajay is Nandana Sen.

#Neverthless there are quite a few scenes which are very well executed. The scene where one of the Soldiers is kept as the bait for the other soldiers to attend to him, is good. The dialogues are effective at places for instance when Devgan says that it is the ’Karza’ of the people that we are paying and if we die in battle then interest is also paid, is heart rendering. The climax is along expected lines

#Coming to performances, Ajay Devgan again proves his worth as an actor....lifting the film in most of the scenes that he comes.Bobby Deol has peformed far better than his previous attempts but he does not look the part of a BSF Jawan.

#Tanishaa has to learn a lot from her sister I guess :) and Nandana sen is just about ok.....Kelly Dorjee who marks his debut as a main screen villain is good even though he has no dialogues(understandable ones atleast)....The support cast is adequate and does the job well

#The cinematography is ok, the sets are very well erected. The songs were not needed at all and none of them pass muster too.The BGM though is quite cool at places.Ranjit Barot deserves more opportunities.

On the whole a good attempt by the director as he has tried something different and needs to be lauded at least for the effort. Thanks for taking the pains to go though my review.....Comments and Brick bats welcome
