BAD Customer Service and Premium charged twice

I took insurance from the company on 25th Jan 2009 over phone and went for an option of paying the same on CC. However, my **credit card was charged twice** on the same and multiple requests on the same day telling them to look at it went in waste.

Then I followed up with them for 2 months, with all the usual routines of faxing the copy of CC bill etc etc and don’t know how many calls I have made to them and probably ‘n’ number of emails. They don’t have the basic business professionalism of replying back to the emails I sent.

Moreover, there is no call back to me made if they require any additional information. Every time I call they will say 7 working days and if there is an update then I will have no information on it till I call back again. Also, I was promised that a copy of the policy will be mailed to me by EOD 25th which did not happen.

I think TATA AIG guys are very bad on customer service and I doubt that there is any use of taking their policy. The service adviser of my car company warned me not to go for it and explained me how horrible these guys are before taking the policy. However, I trusted the brand name TATA and went for it as the company owned by TATA will be customer oriented and now I am regretting every second of my decision.

Even after me informing these guys a month in advance of the billing date, that the chargers have been made twice they did not do any changes. It is a pathetic situation that such a big company like TATA is doing this, as a consumer I am not at all satisfied by the service. Hoping at least someone will reply back to this, I sent so many emails and made so many phone calls. I even asked them for a procedure to cancel the policy completely, they did not even reply via phone or email for that. Also, I asked for the escalation procedure so that I can inform this to people who can take care of it, there no answer for that as well.

Overall the TATA Company is not standing up to the basic expectations that a customer can have regarding a good service. TATA AIG is spoiling the name and brand Mr Ratan Tata has built into INDIANs.**PLEASE PLEASE do not get into any kind of engagement with the TATA AIG insurance and suffer like me.**This is the first review I have ever written in any forum and it just because I don’t want anyone to go thru what I have suffered. **If any of you know any escalation path in this company do let me know and suggestions are always welcome.**
