I am based in Bangalore, in Kalyan Nagar, just like anyone else, looking at Photons marketing and add promos you feel that there must be something good about this product, but what I ended up was a low grade 3rd class operator.
What can you expect if Tata’s are into it - but you should give a hand to them for this, every thing they produce or sell, they are consistent, every thing has the worst quality, right from the look and feel to the actual usage (baring JLR, they just got lucky buying that)
So coming to the point, I suffered for 6 months people, 30 kbps, 40 kbps, one 10 mb file will take 25 mins to upload or download. GET SPEED...GET TIME it seems....all I ended up having was nostalgic feeling of a dialup connection which I used to use in the early nineties....i will connect phone and the diAler will dial and connect to a server in Mumbai or Agra some place and kaboom I am connected....i will wait for hours for pages to load....yes...the same feeling...Photon stills delivers that and very much capable....
So when you go and complain...they have the best customer service....they already know in advance that what you will be calling them for...very well mannered...behaved and co operative...they apologise for the problem....give you a 50% discount of the bill...for month on month...what else they can do poor guys....they dont manage the server or the towers or the technology....they are just sitting there to listen to some s*&t frustrated people like me give it to them...that all they are paid for...
So Net Net....If you Live in Bangalore and live around, Kalyan Nagar, Banaswadi, Kammanahalli, HRBR Layout, HBR Layout etc and need a connection...go by AIRTEL but DO NOT buy PHOTON...
WHY - Tata has a tech issues with all the towers located in these areas....they say they keep fixing it but actually it never works...their towers have the worst reception across all providers...no wonder none of my 1000+ contact on my phone are tata numbers...
This is my advice to one and all - later don’t complaint that you were never warned...
