I have been using Tata Docomo for the last 4 years. It only fools its customer and rob them of their hard-earned money.
My first problem - When you have a postpaid number, there is a credit limit that ensures that the bill doesnot go above a certain fixed limit. When we are close to our limit we get an email, message or call. I had set my limit at Rs 1000. So I should get an email, message or call informing me that I am close to my credit limit. Or at least when I cross my limit, my services should be suspended. But Tata Docomo didnot inform me. They rather increased my credit limit without taking my permission or informing me. At the end of my billing cycle I got a bill of Rs 1500. I was shocked. I checked my credit limit and it was Rs 2500. I became very angry. I wrote an email informing them what had happened with me. They assured me that they will not increase my credit limit again without taking my permission. But after 6 months I again got a bill of Rs 1750. They just want to earn money in any way, they dont care about whether the customer will be able to pay it.
My second problem - I was tired of this heavy bills. So I decided to port my number from Postpaid to Prepaid. I live in Ujjain which is an urban area. So I went to a Tata Docomo customer care centre in Ujjain. There a technician told me that I have to go to Indore to port my number. Indore is a separate city 70 km away from Ujjain. Ujjain is not a village, it is an urban area. If they can provide me the sim I am using now in Ujjain, then why cant they port my number? Porting needs the same form, same sim and same equipment, porting needs nothing extra, then why cant they port my sim in Ujjain. I again emailed Tata Docomo about my problem. In the reply email I got, they gave me an address and told me to go there to resolve my problems. Next day I went there and was surprised to see that it was the same place I had come yesterday. Next day I got a call from Tat Docomo, and I had to again tell him the entire story. He told me that he will forward my problem to the circle customer care head and someone would get in touch with me in 15 days. But it has been more than 30 days and nobody has contacted me from Tata Docomo.
I wonder what has happened to my complain and whether I should again complian from the beginning. This is the worst customer service I have ever got. I am not using Tata Docomo and will never use it. I will request you to do the same.
