Dear Friends, I was actually amused when I heard that TATA is entering into GSM. I thought they were just trying to beat their rival Reliance which was all gung-ho about it. I also thought that its just gonna be the same call rates Local 1Re. STD 1.5Rs.etc. But when I heard about its plan of 1ps/sec I actually asked my friend who told me about it"R U SERIOUS?" Then finally one fine morning I saw an ad in the newspaper announcing its arrival in Mumbai. So I just went ahead & bought a simcard(Well it was just Rs.49 & I thought TATA would not cheat me like that "Reliance" atleast so it was worth a try). Now enough of the preface & lets get down to the basics:-
Call Rates:- The call rates of Tata Docomo are revolutionary. Smart thinking as far as the Indian Psyche is concerned. Even when I call a friend & our conversation ends just a couple of seconds over a minute & he/she disconnects the call then"Mera Dil dard se kaap uthta hai". I am not giving any more details. Just check out there website na Yaar.
Network Coverage:- The most important thing a service provider should concentrate on. If this is not their "Call Rates ka kya achaar dalega" as in the case of Loop Mobile(BPL Mobile).Tata Docomo performs pretty well in this aspect the network is low particularly in some of the interior areas but you can listen to the other person clearly even when the signal is low.
Customer Service:- I went to a Tata Indicom store to get the GSM card & my card was activated literally in 5min. So no worries there. Also I wanted to know about the Voicemail facility so I called up the Customer Care. He was helpful but actually took a long time to give me the reply. So Tata should train the CC a lil more.
Overall:- I found the product "Bole to FULLTO Paisa Vasool"
