I feel very happy and satisfied at having TATA Nano LX. I have been driving in central and Eastern Himalaya for over two decades using various internationally famous cars.
This car is very impressive for the follwing reasons for use on narrow zigzag roads on Himalaya which have sharp turnings. First the 30% gradeability is amazing in climbing.
Even the steep slopes.Reduced body weight is blessing because there is always risk of side road sliding by heigher body weight.Also the shorter wheelbase allows to negotiate sharpest turns easily which is otherwise not possible with other vehicles.
The higher ground clearance is also very much to advantage.The approch angle of >35 degree and departure angle above 46(as measured by myself) increases its suitability on hilly roads.Also I have experimented that it can successfully negotiate fording depth of more than 300 mm! Digitally it seems that its lateral overturn agle could be around 40 degree!
