One fine morning, I decided to buy a new car. I had just learn driving on an old M800(1997) and loved to go for a new one. After a lot of research I finally decided to go for Indica Dicor. My budget was <5L.
Unfortunately, one fine morning, I went to Autofin Makalpet, Hyderabad to know about Indica. Since this was nearest showroom from my house, I decided to go ahead with them. But had to undergo extreme pain till the vehicle was delivered.
After calling them 100 times, I finally got the delivery of the vehicle.(I still didn’t get the RC after nearly a month:)). Cavern Grey. Looks great.
Since I haven’t driven any other car apart frm old M800(useless piece of junk) and Indica Dicor, I cannot compare it to other cars:(. I did TD of Santro and Indica Dicor. But since I was novice driver, I didn’t find much difference except that Santro was smoother and Indica shaked a bit.
First week was honeymoon. Pickup was lot better than my old M800. But after 3 weeks I am getting irritated. I don’t know whether it is because of my driving habits or something else. I am following everything in the manual. Not exceeding speed limits. Rarely exceeding 2000RPM.
Driving in 1st gear gives jerks. Its not smooth. Once I stop at a traffic signal and try to pickup, initially I just release the clutch(car reaches atleast 7-8 kmph) and after releasing the clutch fully I press the accelerator. Car gives xtreme jerks. Immediately I have to switch to 2nd gear.
Under AC, first gear is even worse. I have to rev the engine hard to make it move. Even under 20% AC, engine switches off!.
Day before, I had problem with front power window. It was just refusing to go up. I had to pull it up and it somehow closed.
Driving above 20kmph is lot fun. I reached 80kmph and it was smooth as silk. Even bad roads appear lot smoother.
Also I found the AC not as fast. Even under full AC, car takes time to get cooled on a typical summer Hyderabad afternoon. I bought Dicor only for AC. And I am really disappointed.
I don’t know how A.S.S is going to be. Planning to take car for servicing next weekend. Already covered 750kms in city. Initially got a mileage of 16.5kmpl and now reduced to 14.5kmpl.
I don’t know if I am the only person who feels lot of noise in the cabin while driving.
More updates after my first service. I am not expecting much from TASS after the sales experience. Lets hope for the best.
