Let me be the first one to write about the TATA Indica V2 Dicor. The first thing that I did when I got this car was to open the bonnet and check the engine. To quote the exact words that skipped my lips in amazement was F. Man. The Dicor engine really looked cool and rugged.
It took me a while to get accustomed to its sharp pick up. I have driven the Indica Turbo and I could instantly notice the difference in the engine response. The first thing that caught my attention while driving was the unbelievable pickup and performance it gave even with the AC on.
One other thing that was impressive was the AC. For once I was sitting in the back seat and it hardly took any time to cool the cabin
The car was put to test on the first week itself.
I had to take the car from Jamshedpur to Hyderabad without even a single servicing done.
The distance of 1520Km was covered and to my amazement the car gave a whopping mileage of 19.2Kmpl with the AC on for the complete journey on the highway and without a single servicing done.
The journey was long and tiring but I had no problems with the car.
I got the first free servicing done from Malik Motors at Hyderabad. Was actually impressed by the service provided, had received a call from Pune for the feedback of the service.
I have been driving the car very frequently, and have even taken the car to a top speed of 140kmph. I car was so stable at this speed that I actually could not feel that the car was running at such high speed. It could have gone faster but the road did not permit that speed.
The car is wonderful to say the least.
I don’t have any issues with the car other than one, which for my kind of driving is a bit serious one.
The disc brakes in the front are good but the Goodyear tyre runs out of grip very easily given the weight of the car, and the car tends to skid a lot in straight line instant braking. I need to figure out a way to eliminate the problem. If anyone has any suggestion do let me know.
That’s it for now.
