DLS Euro III - My Opinion

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND - I AM TALKING ONLY ABOUT EURO III VEHICLE (june 2005)

Why I chose Indica diesel

  1. Low running costs

  2. Low emissions

  3. Least cabin vibration & noise

  4. No diesel clutter ( unless u pass thru narrow lanes or bridges )

  5. Good A/C

  6. Pickup good for its category

  7. Easy driving

  8. Roomy and comfortable on lil bad roads

What I dont like in Indica

  1. One has to accelrate harder - during U turns

  2. Try to find a good diesel dealer ( Euro III suffers from adultered diesel)

  3. left side bumper not visible - so shud be careful during heavy traffic

  4. Cheap plastics ( when I read the same in other reviews I didn;t believed it - plastics used in indica as cheap as road side plastics )

  5. Once my tyre got punctured - on the side - reason less air in tyre - shud check air very frequently

  6. gives only one back light ( reverse gear - light ) - gives two for indigo - cost cutting ?? for a mere 10 bucks

What I would suggest for people who are planning for indica

  1. Take DLG ( with power windows ) because the driver cannot reach other window - this might be required when one drives with a/c most of the time.

  2. showroom proimsed mileage between 16 - 18 with a/c in city limits - but I get only 14 - 15 with a/c

  3. drive at the speed mentioned in each gear for least vibrations

  4. There is engine noise similar to M800 - but there is no clutter - we can live with that as we generally use a/c and/or music system

  5. go for a euro III model as going for a euro II may not fetch good resale value

  6. Space

  7. safety ( I heard so - not sure on this )

Why one should avoid Indica

  1. If cost is not a big factor, there are many other cars

  2. for better performace as on today 29 aug 2005 - go for honda city ( wieghed to price ratio)

  3. even if a lil vibration is irritation to you - avoid. rather than feeling the pain for your lakhs.

  4. if u need awesome pickup ( added with a/c on )

  5. if u dont like tata ;-)

  6. better interiors

In short

Indica offers to many the performace for the price. Yet people can get what they want as accessories. So my sugesstion is to look at engine performace and car robostness as top most priority - leaving the room for small ones - as we can add them at any point of time. Small things like central locking , power windows , stereo etc are easily available at different tastes.

Thanks for spending your time. Hope my review have helped you in your decession
