I bought the Indica V2 DLS in Nov 2003 and have driven it for 28000 kms since, that include drives in the city and long drives on highways. The car is great on mileage giving me a consistent 14-15 kmpl in the city and 19 kmpl at least on the highway. It has a great space and can seat 5 comfortably. The power steering is pretty effective and the AC is effective too though it takes some time to take effect. The best part of the car is the cost of running( I have not driven my ever since I bought Indica) , the ample space and overall driving comfort, very stable at high speeds and hills. On the flip side the pick up and the acceleration is what you should expect in a diesel car. The noise is not as much as the world has made it to be. Over all the Indica is great buy, value for money. I have not had any major repair work done, only the routine servicing. One advice , never take the car to a local mechanic even for the smallest of jobs, they know nothing of the deisel car.
Please do not get bogged down by the calculations people will show you to convince that petrol cars are cheaper in the long run. If you drive your indica with care and not like a taxi driver, it will never lead you to the garage. But accept the fact that it is a deisel car and drive accordingly. It is a great car.
