These are my observations after second service last month. My ac blower was changed thrice as I mentioned the problem below. The second blower was replaced after 3 months! But it blew off within the first week itself. Got it replaced the 3rd time.
I replaced the headlight bulbs with 90/100 watts and they got burnt in a week! totally I lost 2 sets of bulbs. I have replaced the original bulbs provided by Tata and they are working fine! Also my JVC touch screen internal IC’s got burnt and I had to spend Rs.2500 for repairing the system. So I realised that TATA vehicles have a very poor internal wiring, indian designed and made in india fuses! My frequent visits to the workship has increased since June, on average 2 visits in a month! The only face saving grace of vista is the Super pickup and Comfort.
Finally I became a owner of an Quadrajet Aura on June 13th, 09 from Malik Cars, Hyderabad. I had actually zeroed on Maruthi’s new Ritz. I had enquired about Ritz and its availability. I was offered immediate delivery. But I decided to have a look at the latest Indica Quadrajet also and I was much pleased with the competative price, which was a whooping 80, 000 less then Ritz and Swift. Also the Aura edition provided interesting features which were not available in maruthi vehicles.
Finally on June 13th, I paid the entire payment in a single DD and I was happy with cash a discount of 21, 000! While maruthi were never prepared to give even a penny discount on Ritz. or Swift. The new car was delivered in just 2 days and I decided to go for Marine Silver.
There were some issues while taking the delivery.On the delivery day, the vehicle was brought to the showroom. I was upset when I found the interiors to be dirty. The drivers who handle the cars never care to be clean while driving the new cars. I literally had to blast the agent and made him clean all the interior plastics. All these cars were kept at a godown at tolichowk service center and since they were not covered, the dust had settled inside the interiors also.
I was in two minds that I should have gone for Ritz as the model was a new concept. But after days of usage, I felt this was the best car to have been purchased. Lets hope I get better results in the long run.
The suspension and shocks are so good that the car rocks like a boat in water. This car is not suitable for Zip drives like Verna or Santro.
Some pro’s and cons.
Pros:
1. Driver adjustable seats which is not available in maruthi.
2. 2 Din audio with USB.
3. Instant pickup right from gear 1. No need to wait for RPM to touch 2000.
4. Gas Shock absorbers, eats away nearly 90% of road disturbances due to speed breakers, pot holes etc.
5. Wide space between both front and rear seats.
6. 80% Sound proof cabin.
7. Smooth engine and very less vibrations.
Cons:
1. Pathetic A/C. This problem is there in all Vista’s.
2. Engine rattles during the first few minutes till the engine warms.
3. Battery discharged after 1500km. The reason was that while the car was in the godown for a month or more, the battery wires were never removed. This caused the water to evaporate. The problem was rectified by their service people on the same day.
4. Steering and gear are little tight. ( might smoothen after sometime)
5. Pathetic horn.
Alterations:
1. Changed head lamp bulbs to 90/100 for better visibility.
2. Fixed powerful imported twin horns, loud enough to scare the devil.
3. Removed the 2 din stereo and replaced with latest JVC touch screen panel.
4. Removed all the four speakers and replaced with JBL front 300w and back 500w speakers.
5. Fixed Blaupunkt 800w 4 channel Amp and 1300w Pioneer woofer.
Well, I am a regular visitor to the service center. Faced 2 accidents and got front bumpers changed twice in just 20 days of delivery. All because of my rash drivers. On 31st July I had taken the car for first service. Mileage had touched 15km with ac on and has traveled 1800 till the service day. Complaints to service people, thin whistling sound in Ac blowers, for which they have agreed the problem and promised to replace the blower motor itself, but as of now the component has been ordered and god knows when it will arrive. There was a creaking noise by the plastic ring guard around the speedometer console. That was rectified. Other then that there were no problems.
So far and till date, I am extremely satisfied with the vehicle. Problems do happen to every car, we just need to have some patience and wait till it is rectified. People who look for space and good price then vista is the best choice. I could have got a better mileage with slow driving but my Hyundai Verna has made a devil out of me :(.
