Indica Vista Quadrajet Aura ABS drivetech 4

Currently I am driving my Vista quadrajet Aura ABS(top model) for last 1month and completed 1900kms. After using Hyundai petrol cars(Santro 2.2years and i10 1.9 years), I shifted to diesel car just for budget purpose.


(Comparing Petrol car @11kmpl and diesel @15kmpl, per km savings is Rs. 3.33.)


Initially I was comparing the diesel cars between FIGO, SWIFT and VISTA.


Did not go for Figo: too low car, mileage not good, no fog lamp, no rear power window, rear windows can not open fully and doors can be opened by pulling the door handle from inside when the car is running(without using child safety lock in the rear only). Cost is high than Vista in comparison to car features and accessories.


Swift: Driver’s vision from inside to rear is not very clear, felt like sitting in a cockpit(The pilot has many facilities to land the aircraft, but you are responsible for saving your car and a**). Need more visibility and estimation of the car when driving a city like Kolkata. Waiting period is 2-3 months.


Now, my first diesel car has completed its first service(1500kms) and mileage I am getting is 12.1kmpl(hope this will be increased gradually). This is a fully loaded car with music system, speakers, central locking, fog lamp, tilt steering, hight adjustable driver’s seat, read wiper- washer, defogger etc. the car has excellent pickup, comfort and stability. Engine is almost soundless and the body of the car is made of better quality of metal comparing to Hyundai or maruti. If you drive maruti or Hyundai, you will hear the music of raindrops inside the car in heavy raining, but in vista you will miss that(If you like the rain drop music inside the car you have above choice J) . The new black and beige interior colors are good comparing the previous grey combinations. Another feature of this car is central locking with automatic door lock which is not mentioned in the car’s manual(reason I don’t’ know). If your car cross 10km/h speed, the doors get automatchandru021y locked from inside(good safety feature).


Pros: good pickup, stability and comfort


Central locking with auto lock feature.


Performance of quadrajet engine is very good, even it has a very less noise and vibration.


Very spacious, back seat accommodate upto 4 person comfortably(Not in Amby way).


Cons: Poor after sales service & support


Dealers satisfaction is in level 0.


Rubber quality the overall finishing is very poor(never feel it is a 6lakhs car).


Music system is not up to the mark(planning to install amplifier with additional speakers)


Turning radius is very poor.


Front seats are less comfortable.


Now, some thoughts about the dealer(Lexus motor). I really feel very lucky by founding a worst dealer. First, the car was delivered to me after 31days while they promise me to deliver within 15-20days. At the time of delivery I found the back door lock has broken and the fuel lead is also broken. However, they replaced those immediately. After taking the delivery I found the front Wiper washer is not functioning and to rectify the problem I went to showroom. But they sent me to the service center. This proves they do not have any quality checking before delivering the car to customtakeouter. I found, the car has completed 105kms(according to ODO) while taking delivery. When I asked, they told me, they do not have parking in the showroom, so they put this car at Singur which is to 30 kms long from the showroom. At the time of receiving the car, I could not found the plastic covers on doors or dashboard or console panel. The door fabric trims were dirty. No result by asking the dealer person to clean those, rather I found 2-3 dealer persons for asking the ‘TIPS” when I am ready to take the car from showroom. I exchanged my old car with the dealer. The settlement process for the old car(repayment of the balance amount by cheque) took another 15 days to be completed. Everyday I used to call up them to ask about the payment status, and the usual answer was, sorry sir, the cheque is not yet ready. Another worst dealer action. I gave them the loan sanction letter and DO letter from the financer on 17th and car was delivered to me on 29th. But they made the invoice dated 17th only, which is a loss of almost 10-12 days(ideally the invoice date should be the date before it was sending for the registration). I purchased extended warrantee from the dealer, but they do not have the card payment facility at their showroom for the same(cash only). Overall I can say, the tata motors must be loosing customtakeouters due to this kind of poor performance from dealers/showrooms.


To summarize the car is overall good and real value for money but the dealers and service satisfaction factors are very poor in nature.
