The perils of getting Tata Indicom Broadband

We were sold a Tata Indicom Broadband connection by a Mr GN Govind Swamy. When selling the connection he had made tall promises about the service and the turn-around time in case of any issues.


Fast forward to now, 2 months after the connection, we have had an unstable connection from day 1 and have to call for complaints every 3-4 days. But since last one week our connection has been down and tata indicom has just slept over the complaint without doing much.


Their engineer did show up finally after 5 days, only to tell us that he cannot fix the problem and will fix it from his office and we should check after an hour. Its been once day since that and still the connection is not working. We called the customer service to see if we can speak to any supervisor, but they all seemed to be busy with other customers (?).


So we decided to call My Swamy who had sold us the connection and it was a rude shock to us that he said you do wantever you want, my job was to sell the connection and I cannot do anything. This same person had told us that he will personally get our refund if the service was not up to the mark.


After being fed up, we finally filed a consumer complaint online at https://core.nic.in and are awaiting their response.


Update: I just got a call from the Tata Indicom technical department and they finally finally fixed the issue. But I would still rate them as pathetic unless they show better support next time and their connection becomes stable.
