When I wrote "Absolutely Nothing" in the Pros tab , I really meant it (in fact mouthshut should provide the very poor rating too) . I am not just an irritated, frustrated customer out on vengeance mode but I genuinely want something to happen , may be some higher ups at the Tata taking notice of the negative feedback and pulling up their socks.
But thats too much of a wish .
I had previously used Airtel Broaband and it never gave me any problems - although it s expensive, it is reliable. I used Airtel 1mbps plan for a year while in Pune. I then came back to my permanent residence in Navi Mumbai and wanted a similar 1Mbps connection on a less expensive connection / plan . My brother had subscribed for "Ican" , a local Broadband service, although the download speed was very less the connection had never a downtime.
I called up Tata Broadband following their ad about free installation and 1mbps at INR 1250/- per month. I thought I could save on the installation and wireless router, and fell into their trap.
It took a week AFTER the paper formalities and the verification for the service "ENGINEERS" to show up. They went through the installation and told me that it could not be installed because of a faulty telephone wires laid down by MTNL (the point here is that I never had any problem with my phone connection), But I trusted their advice and replaced the wires with a higher quality 5 pair wire. They came again, tried to install and said the internal wires were the real problem and I should get them replaced . I did so !
and have regretted it .
This time they came and the instalation was done ... but when I ran speed test before them it showed "12 Kbps" Now they said that the entire length of the wire from my floor to the meter box in the meter room had to be changed . It took them 3 weeks to come up with this, and by then I had spent a very good amount on the wires and the electrician ... when they saw my blood boil, they said there was a go rround to it and would do the needfull in the meter room .
I used the connection for 2 days ... the deal is the connection goes every 20 to 30 mins and after 30 mins come back on. I called up customer care , asked them to disconnect it right away .
I suggest dont go for TATA broadband , I have applied for MTNL - thats another story ( been two weeks since I have applied for a connection). Ill probably go for Airtel again.
