Tata Indicom Broadband is a big NO

I had been a tata indicom broadband customer from july 2006.


I never enjoyed proper connectivity without issues. Still I don’t know why I did


stick with it.


I don’t remember having a proper link continuously for at


least one week.


I remember one year back at least the service was good(no reliable though).


Once I even had someone coming to my place and giving his mobile no to call up


in case of any issue. He even did compensate me for the long period with no


link by extending my validity period. That way it went on well for almost a


couple of months. Suddenly one fine day that mobile no stopped working but the


issues remained.


People who sit there in the customer care. I feel pity for them. Either all


of them are idiots or they are asked to behave so, lie, give false promises,


read the written dialogue to everyone who says there is no connection-


"Sir, there is a major cable issue in your area and our technicians are


working on it. The issue will be resolved very soon". I think their script


is seasonal. There is another one- sir we are sorry for the issues. Someone


from our technical team will attend your issue in 24 hrs and will give you a


call(something that has never happened).


About their promise of 24hrs response time after registering a complaint.


Forget it.


Now listen to this experience:


One fine day, to be precise, on 30th of Oct2007 someone from Tata indicom came


up my terrace and disconnected the cable physically and disappeared(I came to


know about this from my neighbor) I called customer care to get no help. They don’t


even know what is happening. I called them at least once a day for 3 weeks and


finally someone appeared at my front door saying “sir, this is part of our cabling,


we are installing new cable and now your connection will be from a different


box which will be trouble free”. He didn’t know why someone disconnected the


other cable weeks before this job.


Again in Dec 2007 connection is again gone. I called them up


and registered complaint. While waiting for action my validity period also got


expired. As per request from the customer care agent I renewed the account on 08 Jan 2008 using credit card. The


amount is debited immediately but the account never got activated. Last nail on


the coffin… I decided enough is enough… no more business with this Indians trusted


brand name… and finally asked them to credit the amount back before saying TATA


to TATA. Till today(29.01.2008) the


amount hasn’t been credited back. When ever I call them they say that the issue


has been referred to the billing dept and is in process. I stopped calling them


and now corresponding through email. The reply remains the same.


Which world are we living?


Is this the way a company like TATA treats customers?


I’m finding it difficult to believe the fact that all these


experiences are from TATA.
