Please dont take Tata Indicom mobile
Its a sincere request. You can take this as a well analysed recommendation of a MBA grad from a premium Bschool. The prepaid tariffs of Tata indicom are great. But their service is pathetic to say the least. Where else can you see the customer being treated like a beggar? When first I called up Tata Indicom they said they will get back to me in the next 2 days. No one turned up.
Thats was the first incident. It has been 1 month since it happened. Now when I called up they transferred me to their prepaid center( I dont know what is that). The customer service at prepaid center was horrible. I didnt know which model of nokia I wanted. They even threatened to cut the call when I said I dont know the model of the nokia phone I wanted. they cut the phone.after that.
I called up balaji tele services, andheri after that to get tata mobile. The person there said the phones are not in stock. Nothing more. I waited for something more.No more enquiry.nothing. I cut the phone. I called up after some time and enquired again. The same reply came. When I asked when will it be coming he said may be next week. thank god ! At last I got some date.I heard tata has been having problems with their inventory. I pity their management.
By the way I had applied for mobile in tata website also. I applied 2months before. Till now nothing has happened. I complained through the website. Not even an acknowledgement.
All this cycle of events are happening to me for the second time. I went through all of this some 2 months before. The same customer service. The same website. The same franchisee. The only difference was I was not transferred to their prepaid center.
Now its your turn. If a prospective customer who is hellbent (I repeat hell bent) of taking a tata mobile is treated like this think about a person having some problems with his tata mobile. I can assure you that they wont even look at you. Think for yourself.
Update on 12th Feb:
Situtation improved. I called up the tata indicom sales again and asked for a shop where I can buy one. They gave me 3 numbers. The first two ones were non existent and had are no longer Indicom franchisees. But the third one worked. And what..! they had tons and tons of cards and connections. I dont understand why the hell the balaji tel services, andheri said they didnt have one. Indocom..! are u hearing me?
As I had said, the effective call rates are the lowest for my usage(250 min std to landlines and 100 min local). I am pretty happy with the handset also(cheap ones). The network also is good and never gives me problems.
2 days before the sales fellow called me and asked me to submit the docs. When I told him I already submitted, he said ok and said will take care of that. lets see what happens... If the customer service is staying the same then, ...
