Tata Indicom Good Service Bad promises

I bought a Phantom KE 414 C in Nov 2003 with a lot of promises from Tata Indicom (TI).


They have acted like most politicians. Their ’’Customer Support’’ centre kept misleading me saying ’’it will happen, sir we’ll inform you when that happens’’..etc. To date there is no internet support where as the hand set has the brew based wap provision.


Backlight remains ON with operators advt and messages!


Another point worth mentioning here is that I do not know whether it is by design that when I get mail advt from TI the backlight remains on leading to heavy consumption of the battery and I have to keep charging it. This is absolute infringement of privacy and downright irritation.


Old Tariff schemes not available on TI web site ...violative of TRAI directives.


Only the newer schemes which TI wants to promote are available for reference.


Zero portability Zero redressal :


I cannot even shift to another operator easily. And I have lost faith in Tata Indicom’s intention of redressing my problems. And they would very cooly suggest you to change the handset at their ’’Public Offices’’ ( I wonder what is the Ratio of the Public Offices to the subscriber base.) so that they can offer me an exchange on their terms and prices of newer handsets. Because if I buy a new handset CDMA they will not port my old number on the new handset.


So you see its a Nicely carved out MONOPOLY type of business.
