I had purchased this a Photon+ wireless broadband connection from Tata Indicom about July 2009 after comparing with similar offering from Reliance to be used in the area of Goreagon, Mumbai.
Went with Tata product as had expected that would get better support as well as atleast half of the promised performance.
So I did get good support which I have a feeling we may not get with Reliance.
But unluckily the promised performance was missing.
This product is supposed to be a fast one with speeds upto 3.1 Mbps based on HSDP technology.
They & others already have a CDMA technology based similar product in the market for a few years now & is priced lower.
Sadly most of the time I was getting the speed of the CDMA product as indicated in their software itself.
At many a times it was even difficult to even get a connection, as also there were frequent connection drops when connected.
All said it was not a pleasant experience. It would have been better to buy the lower product as that is the performance I was getting anyway. And to make matters worse by Nov-09 the company was selling the Photon+ at a discount too, which I had missed being an early adopter.
So coming from Tata this is not a good feeling at all.
Now we even have similar offering form MTNL/BSNL too I believe.
So am not sure wether to recommend this to anyone, except that the support is good & billing etc is reliable(for which Reliance is known to be notorious).
