I have been a TATA Photon+ customer since July 2011 , when I signed up for your services , speed offered was 3.1 mbps.
During this 15-month period I have encountered inadequacy of service which I had not previously considered possible, to start off with Problem with the speed .Downlink and Uplink hardly crosses 300kbps of 3.1mbps promised. Im not naive to expect 3.1 mbps but 300kbps is 1/10th , is utter shame to be called as fastest internet service provider in the country.
Irony was when they ask me to check speed using speedtest.net..the site gets timedout and only it opens up after repeated tries...such was the speed
Every time the issue was raised, standard response network upgrade in your area and now it has been widened to network upgrade in whole Bangalore. what a lame excuse...Next solution suggested was to tie a wire to the device and to have antenna installed in the premises. An Innovative suggestion considering I’m using a mobile USB device. All this happened in between Oct-Dec 2011.
I got busy with other works, speed issue was put to backstage and I also kind of used up with the slow speed.. In the mid May, Device had become faulty and engineer came and took it for replacement..I took nearly 15 days to get a new device , even after repeated reminders and follow ups. New Olive device was provided...which had problem from the second usage. Device was not detected by Laptop , again Engineer came and had a look and said everythings fine with the device..Problem with the laptop...used it in other laptop..even there faced similar problem.Had to reinstall the device and install it back to use it. Again it persisted for a month. got used to this way working.. Issue was almost forgotten.
Moved to a new location in July, again speed issue , worse than last instance..Speed was not even 200 Kbps , even GMAIL could load in Basic HTML mode. Raised a complaint in Aug...surprise surprise..Network upgrade which was supposed to be completed by last Dec is still is Ongoing , expected resolution time was Dec 2012. Now another issue crops up device getting disconnected intermittently , suddenly the page becomes Inactive. All this when im connected to my office network and in middle of some important work. Still with faith raised a complaint about this issue some 10 days...I was promised engineer will be visiting or giving a call in days time.until now no one turned up neither did I received any call.
I was offered a rental waiver until this network upgrade , I had to call everytime to ask for the rental waiver...In the Last month bill, I called up and asked for the waiver. they said adjustment application is slow and request will be raised and asked me to pay the remaining amount.I paid my balance amount on Oct4th. I was shocked(i shouldnt be , after knowing about services) to see Adjustment was reflected in the bill and asked to pay the amount immediately to avoid suspension of services .
Even after so many hardships , i still continued with their services..which I regret now. Think Twice before you go for Tata Photon+.
