I am new to Hyderabad and living in Kendriya vihar, Miyapur. I desperately wanted an internet connection and was looking for a USB type connection when the agent (if I can call him a Agent!) told me about tata wimax. I was sceptical about the connection but as the agent told me that if you pay 4 month rental there is no installation charges, I went for it. Its a small box attached to my rooftop (5th floor) and its giving amazing speeds of slightly more than 384 kbps unlimited connection I opted for. at Rs. 1100 per month what else I could have wanted. Its been 10-12 days and still I have never called customer care that’s why I am giving 4 points out of 5 to that service as I am not aware how they really are. After paying the advance cheque of around Rs. 4400 I read the reviews and got deeply saddened of opting for a poor connection, but after a day when the connection was installed. I am a relieved man.
The only poor thing about this connection is that it takes around 3-4 mins to start every time you switch on your computer. Otherwise all else is fine. I have even downloaded around 10 GB of torrents and uploaded around 4-5 GB (yes you can download torrents without having the Static IP connection) in these 10-12 days time.
Note: As per Tata Indicoms fair usage policy 70 GB per month is allowed for my plan. So I can still use it well.
