This is my first review posting on MS. I have been reading reviews about products and services on this site for quite some time now and I must say that it has helped me a lot on my decision making process.
I was using a M 800 all these years and was quite satisfied with its performance. I was planning to buy a bigger car sooner or later and now I have graduated to Indigo CS Petrol two weeks back. Before buying this car I read a lot of reviews and suggestions from the internet and even talked to car owners. My buying criteria was as follows:
I had a budget of 5 Lakhs Rupees.
I was looking for a sedan class car with good looks.
I needed a petrol version since my average running per month is less than 1000 Kms.
Low maintenance.
Reasonable mileage. (Above 12 Kms/Lt)
Service centre availability.
The colour I had chosen was Scarlet Red and Indigo CS looks really good in that colour. I had bought the top end model of CS namely GLS with power steering. I booked the car and I got my brand new car on the fourth day! :)
Listed below are the extra accessories I had fitted immediately after I got my car.
Central Locking (R.s 3500)
Beige and Black Steering Grip (R.s 150) * The free one supplied by the dealer was of inferior quality and black in color. I didnt like it, so I changed it.
Artificial leather Beige Colour Seat Covers (Free)
Four Door Power Windows from AutoCop (R.s 11, 000)
5. Kenwood DVD Player (R.s 10, 600)
Roof mount Paramount 9.5 Inches LCD monitor (R.s 6, 400)
480 W Boss rear speakers (R.s 3, 900)
JBL front speakers (R.s 1, 400)
Connectors and miscellaneous items (R.s 600)
Car Perfume (Free)
Besides the above items I plan to buy the following items later on (probably in 2-3 months time)
Alloy wheels (Even without alloys, the car looks excellent with the supplied wheel cups)
Sun film
Even with all the extra fittings, the overall cost I had to pay was well within R.s 4, 50, 000! With a car like this the cost is not high at all. Kudos to Tata for bringing out a car like this and its a real boon for professionals like me. So far I have ridden it around 550 Kms and the car feels great. Before buying I drove the diesel version of CS and I was not very impressed with its performance. Maybe I am used with riding petrol cars and that may be the reson why I felt like that way. The dealer at Trivandrum, Kerala from whom I bought this car was "Kulathunkal Motors". The sales person who attended me was very courteous and answered all my queries.
At this point of time I cant say the mileage of this car since it has not even reached the first service, I think I am getting over 10 Kms/Lt now with 100% airconditioning. Oh and by the way the AC is very effective and really chills you out. The looks of the car is also excellent. The cain is very silent. Whereever I have gone with this car, people have come forward and asked me how this car is and I have said good things about this car so far and I feel really proud at those times. :)
My overall verdict about this car is "excellent". With this money, you cant ask for more!
- I recently added new alloy wheels and sun film to make my car look better. (See attached photos) The issue is that although the car looks stylish, the original steel wheels and wheel cups are lying idle with no takers so far! It is only 2 months old and well taken care of. I washed them clean and is now kept at my home. If any of your friends wants the original four spare steel wheels (brand new with no noticeable scratches), I am planning to give it off for half the price of the original ones. If anyone needs them, please get in touch with me.
