An ALERT to owners/Prospects of Tata Cars

Greetings!

This review does not talk about the technical aspects of Nano. But indeed it talks about the feeling of an owner(me) of a Tata car.

I felt the need to express this feeling which I’m indeed facing at present. Please note that this review is written based on my experience and I’m not here to discourage or hurt anyone, but requesting the readers to take a wise step before putting in their hard-earned money.

Glad News:

Tata finally unveiled their Re.1 lakh car:). Its glad news to all those who have a limited budget that they too can own a new car soon. For others, it can be a second car well within their budget for city drives. I appreciate Tata Motors for having felt the pulse of common people who dreamt of buying a new car at an affordable price.

Coming to the Point:

I own a Tata Indica Turbo DLX model. I bought this car in Jan 2006. I bought this car while I was working in Trivandrum and now I work in Kochi. I have tried few of the authorized service centers in Kochi and Trivandrum.

Sad to say the truth, but.

NONE OF THE AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTERS OF TATA GAVE ME A PROPER SERVICE TO MY CAR.

But I didnt ignore to find out the reason.

With the help of few of my visits to these service centers and speaking with the staffs of those service centers, I found out the reasons.

If you need a good service for your tata car, you have to personally know a staff (preferrably in senior post) of that service center to get a good service for your car. I dont believe in maintaining relationships to get my works done. So this point is ruled out for me.

*The Issue:

The authorized service centers of Tata may have a capacity of servicing around 35 - 40 cars a day. But due to the increasing number of tata vehicles on road, especially taxis, almost all service centers are taking around 65 - 85 cars on an average a day. Dont look at the numbers, take the percentage of more cars they are servicing on a daily basis.

HOW CAN WE EXPECT QUALITY SERVICE FOR OUR CAR WHEN THERE IS SUCH A RUSH?

In this scenario, the one lakh car will make the servicing even worse.

I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TATA TO HAVE SEPARATE SERVICE CENTERS TO SERVICE THE NANO.

I have been using tata vehicles for the last couple of years right from Tata Sierra in the early 1990s. All my first cars were tata and I have used maruti’s as my second car.

But I think my present Turbo Indica will be the last car I buy from Tata because though I’m satisfied with the vehicle, I dont get good service from any of the service centers where I am living. This is spoiling the life of the car which I am getting hurt very badly.*

Conclusion:*

I am concerned about the God Gifted money which He made me work had and get it and so I decided that I will NEVER BUY TATA CARS TILL THEY SOLVE THEIR SERVICE CHOKE.

I hope this small piece of information may help my readers who are already owners of Tata vehicles and for those who plan to buy a Tata car.
