I am a tatasky user from Bengaluru since 3 yrs. Recently, I thought of upgrading from SD to HD. Within minutes they used my credit card info, swiped Rs.2599/- and then they took 2 days to install the HD box at home and one more day to activate it. To my shock, only 8 or 9 channels are HD. I took this shock easily and thought I will mostly stick to these channels movies & sports channels which are HD. The quality of HD channels were awesome. No complaints abt it whatsoever. But the bigger shocker came when I changed to the other normal non-HD channels. The video and audio quality sucks. It is worse thatn the SD box I had earlier. I had no choice to discuss this with the ppl who installed coz they do their job n almost vanish from the scene. The reason why this happens is that tatasky has recently given setupbox orders to samsung and not thomson. So, if the setup box is not thomson, u r at loss. Spoke to many cust executives of tatasky and it is almost 3 months of phone calls, and I am yet to get my refund. They don’t talk rude but they r all powerless n escapists. Nobody takes responsibility n resolves ur issue. On phone they give me gyan on tata code of conduct n ethic but they dont know that I too am a tata employee & I know how well we follow them. I have lost a lot of time, peace of mind and money because of tatasky. I hate tatasky. I will never ever use it again because all these companies are competing with each other to make more money but none of them are aware they are losing long-term customers due to poor customer support.
Finally, after 3 months of phone calls and constant reminder, I got my refund money back. Many thanks to a cust service executive by name Nityanand. He was the only sensible guy I spoke to in Tatasky.
Now, I switched to a local cable with setupbox called inbangalore. I get 217 channels for Rs.250 per month plus 20 FM radio channels and some games. Does not depend on dish so there is no disconnect when it rains heavily. The quality is slightly below tatasky but u need to have really sharp pair of eyes to notice this.
I will switch back to tatasky HD in future only if the number of HD channels are atleast 50 but not just 8 like it is now.
