Tata Play

I got tata sky only because my brother insisted. he was highly impressed by the quality of picture he had seen at Westside and other dealers. I was also carried away witht their ad showing different camera angles

for cricket match. I thought it will be a good experience.

I asked my brother to go for hathway as it was tied up with my cable guy and I know he will do it whatever I asked him. but then he used his veto, being elder brother.

I faced the problem from very first day. the dealer was very rude. he was aware

that he was making false promises but pretended that he is right. he promised that within 4 days DTH will be insatlled and up and running. but to my suprise, after receiving STB.

I had to follow up with tata sky. the dealer job was over. however the dealer always said that he had already inform the co and they will start work very soon. 4 days pass, but no sign of tata sky. then dealer made me

to mail all the details, v were abt 15 customers, entire building to tata sky. It didn;t help. then I called and fought with them. they promised that it will be on within 2 days. after 2 days I again called the co, to realsize that

installation date has been fixed 4 days after. I was  not informed abt

this change. it was just done from there side.

After 4 days, again there was nobody. the installation was scheduled to nextday. everything was decided by them. I was not consulted whether I will beavailable or not. then finaly got it.

Problem with tata sky:

1. my entire building had opted for 1 dish. instead individual dishes are

installed for everyone. other problem, the eniter terrace has been occupied.

the dishes were suppose to be installed on the wall. but these idiots installed

ont he terrace floor so now we cant use terrace. further the wires are looming

all ove rthe terrace and my flats. they do not know how to install it. I asked

them to pluc it with my existing cable not possible. in one of my flats,

instead of taking the wire from left side he has taken from right. problem, it

goes through my small balcony whihc is just 3 feet and no it hangs in the

balcony and then in my room. if he had taken from left, this problem would not

have arise..

1. Sound quality: earlier, I used to keep sound level between 30-40. now with

this, TV sound is in the range of 70-80 and on STB more than half. still no

proper voice.

1. different angles for matches were missing. it was just virual camera which

was nothing what they had shown in the ad.

1. Neo sports is missing. I ordered for it on 30th dec 2006. when I contacted

help desk, they said is off for more than two weeks. CHEATED... they were aware

its not available still maintained that it si available.

1. Star movies.. due ban by bbay high court. its available with other service

providers.

1. nobody at the help desk know where the fg co is. or who is the MD of

tata sky.. who runs.. may be ghosts...

Good of tata sky:

1. picture quality is better than normal cable. but I wont say its superb.. i

dint find much improvment. its better.

1. I got password based parental control which was not available.

   
   




2. games.. they r very very basic.. nothing gr8 abt it.

Buy to get disappointed..

Now I have more to add (29/06/2007)...

I am facing problem with the signal reception from last one week. I also spoke with customer care manager couple of times. THey give their personal guarantee that problem will be solved within 24 hours. But I still calculating when 24 hours will get over. I have 4 set top boxes. THe problem is only with one. If I connect other box at the same place, it works. I explain them this, but not willing to accept.

Even in other boxes, if it rain little heavy, not like as it rains in INdia, just little heavy showers, then gone. Nice message will appear, "Set top box is unable to receive signal".

SO IF YOU ARE PLAANING TO BUY,  BE SURE THAT YOU LIVE IN SAHRA DESERT WHERE THERE IS NO RAIN.. IF IT RAINS IN YOUR TOWN< THEN YOU WILL BE AT MERCY OF RAIN.

I WOULD LIKE TO ASK ALL THOSE WHO HAD EARLIER SAID THAT MY PROBLEM WILL BE ONE OFF. BUT THE CUSTOMER CARE EXECUTIVES HAVE SAID THAT LOT OF PEOPLE AER FACING PROBLEM DUE TO RAIN..  WHAT YA SAY..... nothing personal against you guys...

and yes, Taata sky had said that nothing will happned in rain. infact they have accepted that there is no way that dish antenna can work in rain.

so now only choice left is Hathway.. whether you like it or not. no choice.
