After going through all the reviews of both Dish TV and Tata Sky, I decided to go for Tata Sky as Dish TV do not telecast Neo Sports and BBC package - 2 channels that we watch frequently. So I called up their helpline and purchased 3 Tata Sky connections on 8th Feb 2008. I decided not to purchase directly from any dealer keeping in mind the inconveniences faced by most other Mouthshut reviewers (already registered digicomps being sold, digicomps found faulty at the time of installation, etc.). The Customer Care lady, named Sudha, who co-ordinated my Credit Card purchase really did well to justify my choice of Tata Sky. The transaction was easy and successful at the first try, and I was promised that the Digicomps would be delivered to my place within 3 working days.
Then came the cause for my concern. 5 days passed without the the digicomps being delivered. Niether was there any further correspondence from Tata Sky. So I called up their helpline on 13th Feb 2008 and was told that the digicomps had been despatched from their end and Id be receivng the same that very day. I waited, but didnt receive them.
Next day, I again gave them a call and this time I was told that the delivery would most definitely be done that day. I was again requested to wait till 9pm that day. But again they failed to keep their promise. This triggered some serious follow-up regarding the issue and that very night I recalled their helpline and demanded a proper explaination. Ultimately my call was attended by Mr.Rupam from Tata Skys specialized helpdesk who took it all upon himself to assure me of a proper reasoning behind the delivery delay within 24 hours. He also took the responsibility of a prompt delivery and installation by the weekend.
Next day, I kept receiving calls from Tata Sky at regular intervals, enquiring if I had received my delivery (which I didnt). They followed up with the Courier and informed me that Id get a call from them that very day. I did receive a call from the REPL Couriers Pvt. Ltd., confirming my address. But shockingly, even after all that, the delivery was not made. This enraged me and I again called Tata Sky asking them for the Courier contact information and my Consignment ID, so that I could have a go at them. The Tata Sky representative was as apologetic as ever, and I was provided with the details.
Finally, I received the digicomps on 16th Feb 2008. I checked and found that the Courier company had received the digicomps on 12th Feb 2008, and it was indeed a delay on their part and no fault of Tata Sky. Nevertheless, I called Tata Sky up and scheduled an installation. By this time they were already aware of the inconveniences that I had been facing, and they were nice enough to schedule a prompt installation the very next day. The engineers who implemeted the installation were most co-operating and they did an excellent job. Every feature was explained to the last detail and by the time they departed, they had already ensured to leave behind a very satisfied customer of Tata Sky.
There has not been any fault so far. The picture and sound qulaity are excellent and all the moneys worth. Only one mistake that still exist is that I was supposed to get 1 months subscription free (because of Credit Card purchase through helpline). That amount is yet to be credited to my account. Anyways, I have raised a complaint in this regard, and again, I have been assured that the mistake would be rectified within 3 working days.
