Tata Sky a very Bad experience turned 2 a GOOD one

I just wanted the top people out there to know that it was really a very bad experience that I had with Tata Sky today. My subscriber ID is 1004217301. I have had very good experience with Tata Sky until yesterday when suddenly my set top box stopped receiving the signal.


On calling the technical support it was informed that I would have to pay Rs.300 in case if the technician found a physical damage. I agreed to it as I knew that there was no physical damage. When the technician came he said that the dish could have been moved from its original position. There was no way that it could have happened as the dish was fixed high on the terrace where no one could reach. The technician said that it was not his problem how it had problem. He said that he could correct that but would be charged Rs.300. There was no other option but to get it fixed as my family cannot stay without a TV.


Now I think that is very disappointing as I still have warranty on my set top box & dish so any assistance that I need from Tata Sky should be provided to me. Of course I understand that you would not cover accidental physical damages. In my case I think I should have got assistance without any charges as I am still under warranty. I think it’s a business policy for Tata Sky to do this with customers as we have already invested on a set top box & they know that customers would not go to some other operator so soon. I would say that I would not change right now but certainly would start thinking of option to do away with Tata Sky.


This is the 1st time I have heard that a service provider would not assist the customer for technical issues. Had I know this earlier I would not have opted for Tata Sky. Let me tell you that I have my comp & had got it repaired without any charges as I was under warranty. So I expected the same from Tata Sky as well as it is a branded company & thought that I would get assistance for all technical issues which had occurred without my fault.


FINALLY I GOT A CALL FROM TATA SKY & THEY CREDITED MY Rs.300 BACK TO MY A/C RESTORING MY FAITH IN TATA SKY--------  EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE
