Every single charge against Tata Sky is 100% right. Let me add my comments point by point.
Tata Sky service is pits, for it is non-existent. Their numbers are unreachable and so is their web site. I have experienced this problem from Day 1, for the last 10 months.
The problem with labels is permanent.
What gives Tata Sky the right to remove channels as they please and ask subscribers to buy new packages shelling out ever more money and making the monthly bills fatter and fatter? PLEASE SEE AD IN TIMES OF INDIA RELEASED BY ESPN, STAR SPORTS AND STAR CRICKET saying that they have not increased the prices but Tata Sky has unilaterally and arbitrarily blocked them out and that they are initiating action against Tata Sky. I am sure this will silence sceptics who don’t believe genuine complaints of suffering subscribers.
Take the case of contests like Lakhpati - some ridiculously simple questions are asked making sure everyone gets the right answers; you are then asked to send an SMS that costs quite a bit. Imagine hundreds of thousands sending SMS. Compared to the revenue the telecom companies make, one lakh is peanuts. Is Tata Sky in collusion with telecom companies in an attempt to loot susbcribers? Think deeply about this before talking in defence of Tata Sky.
On those rare occasions when one gets a number, one is made to choose the language and then the IVR says ’we will now transfer you to a customer care executive’ or something to that effect, but no one comes on the line. You are put on hold endlessly - now is the call metered from this point on? If yes, then this is yet another conspiracy of taking the subscribers for a ride.
For whatever reasons if Tata Sky cannot handle things properly and cannot even answer calls, a subscriber has every right to cancel the subscription with full refund against surrender of the equipment. All those affected should join in the demand for FULL REFUND AGAINST SURRENDER.
