I bought my TATA Safari DICOR 2.2 in May 2008. I read multiple reviews that TATA has an expensive maintenance but still I was fascinated by its looks and power it shows on the roads
It worked perfectly ok until March 2010. This is where I completed about 45K KM and it broke down due to some issues in clutch. I got it fixed and paid as dealer mentioned its not part of standard warranty(car was under 2 years). I bought the idea but clutch broke again in Sep 2010. There were no parts available at dealership for more than 2 weeks and my car was just there. As soon as I was done with clutch at the time of delivery of the vehicle, gear box broke. It was a disaster and I spend 2 weeks again as Dealer once again didnt have parts. After fixing and paying also problem was not 100% fixed and finally I had to take it to dealer again in Jan 2011. As usual, parts were not available and I didnt get my car repaired until I registered a complained with TATA. As soon as I was ready to take my car I came to know that dealer broke my car battery and a tyre was cut in between by the dealer only
No matter how hard I fought, nothing happened. Thats not all, later I came to know that Ill have to spend 30 K again as suspension is also gone
Another thing, I didnt mention that in Aug, car met with a small accident and I gave my car to another dealer for repair, again, it was a small repair but no parts. Also, people at dealer stole my VCD screen. Finally in Jan 2011, GM of the dealer compensated me Rupees 5K for the same. It was INSANE!! they accept someone stole something but said they cant do anything
Bottom line: I just spent Rupees 14K for service, 5 k for battery, need to spend 30K for suspension, 15K as 2 tyres are gone and cant drive my car unless I do the same
Im gonna sell it off with less than 3 years and less than 60K KM
Thats not all, TATA dealership is not ready to give me more than 4 lacs if I less it off where new cost for the car is 10 lacs plus (on-road).
