With word limit of 700, I will try being precise. My parents already have tata sky since 1.5 years and have faced no problems with it. Wn I got transferred and started staying with them, they recommended me to go for tata.I, thinking of trying airtel went online and showed my interest.
I got a call from Airtel noida within 24 hours from one Rohit. He explained to me that advantage of airtel over tata is that we will give you HD signals free of cost if you take HD box. I agreed(my mistake).He wanted me to make a payment of Rs2790 to Airtel representative so that within 24 hours I could be given equipment and connection. He was so keen to help me that he called me up 4 times to check where I was so that they could come and tae money. He even sent the person at my office on same day.
Once money was paid, things changed.Connection within 24 hours seemed impossible to customer care whom I kept on calling.It was on day 4 that they actually were able to provide me the dish and HD box.Customer care ppl are so dull, when I was inquiring about my equipment earlier, they used to ask me to click a, b, c buttons on my airtel remote(I didnt have anything).
Finally signals came and I couldnt find any HD signal coming. I made up nearly 10 calls.Every person on customer care cheated. Either they put me on infinite hold or they told they will call back after some time but never did.One fine day, I got hold of one Jaspreet who listened to me and told he will call back in 2 hours after checking with back end team as HD signals will be given only at a price of 71 per month.He called back and told that he has discussed the case with back end team and since airtel had committed HD signals, within 24 hours HD signals will be released. It never happened.I got entangled in an unending process of calls with them and they kept befooling me.5 more days passed.In between I talked to people who kept on telling me that my problem will be resolved within 24 hours.On 2nd Sept 2011 HD signals were given to me. My package is such that I was told on payment of 2790 Airtel will give me free viewing of 1 month and 250 cash back which ultimately means 40 days of free viewing. On 9th Sept 2011, my TV channels have stopped.I called them up again to know that when HD signal was given to me, Rs1590 has been deducted from my balance and hence I need to pay more money to see TV. I am really fed up of Airtel. I called up customer care agents again who are literally "ZERO" capability people and never are ready to help you. Finally I asked to be connected to some senior rep. and was connected to Ranvijay, who again after checking with back end confirmed that when HD signal was released on my connection on 2nd Sept, the money got deducted accidently.The back adjustment could not be done due to technical errors.Hence the issue. He told me he has updated the back end team and they will release TV signals within 24 hours.Nothing happened. Today, 10th, I again called up to check only to find from Sonam (cust rep) that no complaint was raised by Ranvijay and she will do so now so that problem gets fixed within 24 hours. It is really a shame.I have shared all my problems with Airtel over phone and via mails. Only thing I have done good is that I have been recording calls with them on my cell. I think if by tomorrow things do not get sorted, I will go to consumer forum and demand damages from them for all the harrasment caused. These people have no professionalism, give false commitments and are always inclined to fool customers.Taking airtel was my biggest mistake.I will advice all never to go for airtel DTV. If you go for it, ensure that you get all commitments via mail from their team. Otherwise they will make your life miserable.Since 26th Aug (since the day they actually gave me connection), I have made 50+ calls to them over issues.They are no the company to opt for.THink twice before you decide.
