I am a DishTV customer for many years now, and first had their normal DishTV set top box and now since a year I have been using Dish TruHD Set top box.This set top box has the DVR facilities, but I have not been given the DVR remote to use those facilities.They keep saying me I have to pay additional Rs. 300 to get the remote. I said, I have been a long DishTV Customer, you have given me the services but not the hardware to use those services.
This is unacceptable to me and you are making me doubt my own willingness to be anymore loyal to DishTV.
And so I might clearly think of shifting to some other DTH provider in few months time when my existing yearly subscription comes to an end. I asked him to register my complaint and let me know the complaint number and also send me a confirmation email that my complaint has been successfully registered. He disconnects the call without any formal greeting, and then calls back after 5 mins, and says, "In order to register the complaint, I will have to forward your concern to DishTV DVR department, and for that you will be charged Rs. 300/-"
I was shocked. I said to him, why am I being charged Rs.300 just for making a complaint. He says, there is no other way out. you will have to pay Rs. 300 if you want me to forward your concern. I said, dont forward concern, forward the complaint. He still adamantly and a bit rudely this time, says, there is no way sir, you still have to pay Rs. 300. I have the name and details of this person whom I spoke with. I have written an email to consumer grievances now waiting for their response. They suck big time guys.
I always thought I was following the laws and being honest and systematic in my dealings with DishTV and so there would just not be any situation where I can have any problems with them as long as they provide me appropriate services. But this is the limit.
Stay away from DishTV guys. these are bloody money suckers.
