I have purchased new Dish TV HD connection a month back. After a month my setup box started hanging up in 20 min then it’s reduced to 1 minute. Also some time setup box reboots too. So I called online service rep they responded well. Tolled few things for trouble shoot and then those things didn’t worked then they arranged a technician the next day.
Next day two technicians came to my place just switched on connection and picture came then one of technician told its working, So he can go. I told you have to wait for 10-20 min it will surely hang up where nothing will work and all things will freeze and you have to do power off manually to again restart the set up box. In fact in 5 min picture got freezed and the set up box hanged. Then its clearly identified set top box is faulty. So it needs to be changed. They gave me a set up box which is having scratch and obvious dents on it. So I tried to call dish TV and other means but here I am very disappointed with them.
According to their policy they will provide only working set up box which Means you can get any older box. And at least here I disagree with them as I purchased a month back system and its fault in your system. Then why we will get 2-3 year old box. I should get similar condition box (1 month old or new but not 2-3 year old box). But anyhow as I have paid subscription fee for 3 month so thought to continue. Hence I told technician to change the box.
One of technicians was so rude after changing set up box. A screen got opened where a message was coming after 30 min picture will come he told me to sign on paper that my service is completed. I told clearly boss I will sign only when I can see picture is coming then he thrown the paper on me, then took paper and left from my flat. After 5-10 min second technician who was bit calm he came and did something then picture started coming. So as I saw the anger of other technician so this time I signed the paper once I saw the picture.
Just when they moved out in five minute I sat onto my chair and saw from remote set up box is not responding. So I called technician number and told him it’s not responding to remote control. They told they will come in hour. But they didn’t came so in evening I was again forced to launch a complaint again.
So in sort below are main points.
Pros:
1.Online service center is responsive and they will arrange technician in 24 hours.
Disadvantage: On these Dish TV should work.
2.Once your set up Box will get issue in 1 month or earlier too they can give you 2-3 year old any junk box. So whenever they are changing check all things properly. As in my case it was not working after 5 minutes. Here Dish TV is having a wrong policy as they are giving a very old box.
3.Few technicians are so rude, they can scold you too.
In my home I had Tata SKY connection from last 6-7 year and we didn’t have any issue. So in my opinion TATA still has quality of goods. We are not sure Dish TV is using what type of set up box in their so called high end HD+ system. I will keep updating if any progress is there.
