I changed over from SCV cable set-up box, to Tata Sky on June 1st.
It was well-nigh impossible to contact them for installation as their support tel.numbers are engaged invariably. The dealer had some secret advice. He asked me to ring up either Hyderabad number or even if I get Chennai no. ask for language option as Tamil and not English. This worked and I was able to get technical support. It appears that they have too many dissatisfied customers calling and have not organised their technical support properly.
The channel selection option is also funny. The South india Jumbo pack does not have DD-Podigai, a very popular channel in Chennai. This is not available as a pay channel as well. The customer is also thrust upon a lot of unwanted channels. What the Providers have not understood is that there is no common language in South and all the people do not know all the four regional languages. There is no use thrusting all these channels on all of them, at the same time denying some good Hindi and other channels. The channels should be re- arranged into smaller bouquets and left over as a-la-carte. This will help the customer for proper selection of channels of his taste and reduce cost
