Well movies like Taxi..are sheer fun to watch because they hardly trouble your grey cells. Amazingly light and filled with loads of fun and thrill, its one racy film I have seen after an extremely long time. I must admit I hate watching Hindi movies, especially the stereotype roles of the likes of Sharukh and his ladies, gyrating to the tunes of copied English tracks. Unless you make movies of a genuine kind, be it comedy or otherwise, it time waste.
Taxi...is a story revolving around happenings in a single day. The story line revolves around two stubborn characters (Nana Patekar and John Abraham). While the former portrays a man struggling to keep pace with a demanding life, the latter tries to keep pace with the riches he hopes to inherit. The director has got the best out of Nana Patekar (a versatile actor who acted pathetic in Apharan) and John Abraham (an actor who is gorgeous to look at but has loads of learning to do) in the film. Both have performed extremely well and though the entire film is based on a single day event, it keeps you glued to your seats till the very end. Now these are the films Bollywood should experiment with, rather than churn out, day after day films based on skin show and almost patented acting styles, a la Shahrukh kind!!
I must say that Taxi...with its simple story line, delivers a right punch. It just goes on to prove that directors can indeed make or ruin a film. Its nothing to do with budgets and big ticket actors and actresses but rather its the acting that is of paramount importance. A must see movie for all those fun loving people who are keen to break free from the Shahrukh Khan syndrome! Kudos to both Nana and John. Lets have more of them!
