Not many of the Hollywood inspired movies have make a mark in Bollywood (through remakes).I m not talking about Bhatts, who cut and paste the plot in their movies. But I m talking about movies, which were Hollywood inspired, but only through concept. Inspired by Samuel Jackson and Ben Affleck starrer Crossing Lanes, this movie is surely a ride of emotions and I can say it is a ride of emotions.
We generally start a day with a hope and usually ends it with cursing the god and others (In india every middle class man might do this). We curse the pedestrian who came in the way when you are riding to office, we curse the police man for abrubtly blocking in your way, your boss for continous chiding and soforth. We blame them for our worries and losses and if turn comes we might not hesitate to shoot them. But, we usually forget one aspect, that is we ourselves. We respect ourselves, our ego. We dont want our ego to be hurt. we dont look at others problems, by getting into their shoes. If we do that, there will be no conflicts, no misunderstandings and soforth.
This is the undercurrent concept of the movie. Shot totally in Mumbai urban, this film leaves you with the flavour of amchi Mumbai taste. Director Milan Lutharia, has beautifully carved this film, thanks to the music and rememberable numbers like Mumbai Nagaria and Ek nazar mein bhi are good. But the song I like and which has the greater meaning in it is Aazmaale, which calls out introspection of human.I love it!
The two protagonists of this movie Nana Patekar and John Abraham in the roles of Taxi driver and a rich business man are more than worth watching. This is one of the best characters till date. To John, this is birth of a actor in him. Sameera Reddy and Sonali Kulakarni have done their roles well. The plot of the film starts and ends in one day. Chases, thrills, twists and turns, power packed performances, no extreme dramatisation, all spun around a taxi. This is all with a touch of human emotion.
Watch the movie, you will certainly love it. This taxi ride is surely a paisa vasool!!
