MUSIC VIDEOS THAT IMPRESSED ME!!!

With approx 15000 hours of music video viewing experience in the last 15+ years, I believe I am qualified enough to write on the videos that impressed me till date.

I have not considered the videos with wrong social message and offensive https://lyrics.

My top 10 English music videos would include the following:

10. True Faith: New Order(I think 1987)

I don’t know what these characters are doing in the video. This is simply an enjoyable video, backed up by a lovely audio. Although meaningless things like slapping each other in the video are there, but in the overall atmosphere of silliness, this grows upon you.

9. Wicked games: Chris Isaak(1994)

Hmm. The video has a great combination of the sand, water and the body. Chris Isaak sings out on the beach to his girlfriend. Although there is certain nudity in this song, but it is very tastefully done and conveys a lot of oomph! Very good close ups and camerawork.:D and the close-ups of the lady…… that is steamy man….!:D

8. Right now: Van Halen(1992)

This is a different video with subtle subtitles appearing for each shots. The interactivity between the subtitles and the pictures is humorous. It’s a bizarre picture video with real smart captions. The video is laidback appearance for the band but it actually has some meaningful https://lyrics. This one again scores for innovation

7. Give it away: Red-hot chili peppers(1991)

This video is full of innovation. Its innovative makeup, camerawork, lighting, angles makes it a must on this list. The impact is psychedelically shocking. Lot of life and movement and in each frame. An action packed song and dance video.

6. Mr mister Broken Wings(1987)

Most of us must have not heard of this. The video has one of the best-picturised https://lyrics. It is the rare combination of a good lyrics and a good video. The black and white video of a guy driving and searching through the deserts has a lot of visual appeal and sudden smoothness to it. I mean the video is pleasing and not harsh to the eyes and the result is that; it ends up looking very different from other videos. “Take this broken wings and learn to fly”. A good one to have in your list

5. November Rain by Guns N roses(1993?)

This 9 minute epic video has to be on everyone’s list. A classy piece of picturisation and scripting makes this video grow on you, every time you watch it. The highlight of this video is the mass orchestraziation when the high pitch takes over after the death of AXLs wife in this video. The visual impact of the orchestra and quick changing of frames gives the watcher a high involvement experience towards the songs climax.

4. Smooth Criminal: Michael Jackson(1988)

Can you leave MJ out from this list of best videos…:D He is the greatest icon in music video business. This video has a underground Criminal hideout ambience and his chorographical adventure in there. Lot of group sync dancing is my fave MJ video. It is the best in terms of choreography, moon walking, stunt dancing.

3. Praise you by Fatboy Slim(2000)

I recently saw this video. The choreography, the steps, the location, the performers, the entertainment value and a good combo of music makes this video unmissable. Mind You its just shot at a location in one single go. Check it out and Praise me.!:D

2. Where the streets have no name by U2(1989)

This song won the best Video performance in 1990 Grammy’s. Again this was a wonderful video in which the lead singer BONO gets arrested after performing atop a building and having a live audience in the middle of a working day. Great concept and a legend video.

1. Losing my religion by REM(1990?)

The song was the record and song of the year at the Grammy’s. The sheer brilliance of the photography and lighting makes this song on the top of the list. The visualization of the song is amazing. Hats off to Tarsem for the lovely video. He also is the director of the recently launched film “THE CELL” starring J.LO. Well Tarsem is an Indian…Tarsem Singh to be precise.

Good videos on my mind but not in TOP 10 this list:D

· The sun always shines on TV:  A-Ha 1986

· Hazard: Richard Marx 1994

· Wild Wild West: The Escape Club 1991

· Ooh sometimes: Erasure 1986

· Rush Hour: Jane Wiedlin 1989
