Selecting ten best songs is quite an ardous task as the malayalam industry has always been blessed with talented music directors and lyricists. Now I am trying to list the best ten malayalam songs in my opinion. I have evaluated the songs based on the quality of lyrics, the flow of music, the compatibility with classical music and the feeling which music ought to give you.

Now I know this song is not a great song any day to feature in the top ten. But its one of my personal favorites. The lyrics isnt great I agree but music is good. I had to make sure there is atleast a song by Johnson in the list bcoz his background music is one thing I admire always.

Though MGS is not the best of singers malayalam industry has seen, he is one person who has had a long lasting influence. Thanks to his pairing for Mohanlals best hits. This song along with the video makes the difference. Thanks to Mohanlals brilliant acting skills.

I don’t know the reason I love this song. Yeah the lyrics are good and the music is enthralling.
I would love to include many other favorites of mine. Like songs from Sargam by Bombay Ravi and His Highness Abdullah, Bharatham etc deserve a mention. Among new songs there isn’t a song that I would really like to mention.
