Almost all the companies take up the technique of advertising in order to allure the buyers towards their product and mainly to tell them that their product is better than their competitor?s. New York Life Insurance has a very unique approach towards making advertisements that actually force people staying abroad think about the different traditions and customs of India.
I would say the whole credit of those thoughtful and witty advertisements for New York Insurance goes to the advertising agency. There are advertisements on nearly every festival. There is one on Raksha Bandhan where a brother is shown teasing and bothering his sister and how later he tries to make up with her when she is angry.
Another one is based on teacher?s day. There is a teacher who is retiring. He seems to look disappointed as he is walking out of the classroom but notices all the students outside holding banners saying?Happy retirement.? He looks obliged and touched. As he?s going on the rickshaw, a girl hands him his stick. One of the old advertisements, which was not based on a festival, has a little girl who returns to her house in the rain with a little puppy. But her father didn?t approve of that and hence, the girl had to return the puppy. While the girl?s mom is trying to pacify her, the father is shown entering the house with three or four puppies in his arms and the girl runs up to him and hugs her dad.
There are a lot of other ads with similar, touching concepts. These ads are so different than the other usual advertisements that come on TV. Most people are tempted to watch New York Life ads, as they are out of ordinary and fun to watch. I love the way the makers add Indian values to the advertisements.
Also, the background music or the song plays an extremely important role in setting the mood of the ad. Be it funny, emotional, religious or happy, it helps the viewer to recognize the atmosphere in which the advertisement is made and should be viewed.
It is always a pleasure watching New York Life advertisements because they are brilliantly created and also because I am sick and tired of watching the same old cheesy ads that just bore the heck out of you!
I hope New York Life continues to make terrific advertisements always and forever.
