The two most important things a women can have in her car in case she breaks down or gets in an accident is a cell phone that is fully charged and a 911 sign.
The sign should be bright yellow with big bold red letters, NEED HELP PLEASE CALL THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES.
If you are a single women and your car has broke down or if you have had an accident and it is either night time or there or no other people or cars around, DO NOT get out of the car, lock the doors, and call for help on the cell phone. Let the other person know that you have called for help.
If you do not have a cell phone and if you have a accident at night or there is no other people or cars around if you can still drive the car drive to a well light area or to a all night convenience store. If you can drive the car tell the other person to please call the authorities that you are not getting out of your car. Stay in the car with the windows up and the doors locked.
If you break down you can either use the cell phone or place the sign in the back window of your car. Always keep the doors locked and the windows up.
It is not a safe world we live in and I have friends who have been hurt because they trusted a stranger. I myself had a accident a few years back at night, and I pulled over to check the damage and robbed at gunpoint. They only got two dollars but because I was driving a new Mercedes Benz which was a rental, dumb crooks, they thought I had money.
It is better to be safe then sorry or to think oneself is stupid.
