The BIG DISASTERS!

Okay, so I am back to my controversial best. I am sure none of you doubts that captcharisma22 has been a very controversial figure here on MS. Sometimes this guy goes against SRK, sometimes against Aamir, and sometimes against John Abraham, Shahid, etc etc. Even though Captain says he’s objective and also gives reasons for his thoughts, his ID gets under major fire! Well, guess what, the captain loves it. This is MS. We are all here and we are all with each other and against each other at the same time. It’s great to have a variety of different views, isn’t it? So let’s get back to my controversial best and expect some curiosity value right away.

For starters, this review will include only MAJOR DISASTERS of the year--movies that came with huge expectations and disappointed big time as dismal failures! No AB BAS, MR. YA MISS, KASAK, or other short-term, pre-decided disasters on this list. Only the ones that could offer something but failed! Got it? I hope so!

So let’s get set. Nothing is in particular order. It’s only a list!

ELAANDismal start of the year by making the elaan (announcement) that the year would certainly have some fiascos that would accompany some of those good old successful films. Anyways, Vikram Bhatt should’ve realized that when you have a small time star like Rahul Khanna in the main lead, especially then it is all the more important to get the direction right. Failure there would throw some bitter salt on the wounds. Besides, what about casting the talented Arjun Rampal and wasting him. What about making the girls be mere props in the screenplay like they typically are in any other action movie! Wow. And how in the world can you think John Abraham’s star power is enough to get any movie to the success line. Bad thinking. Mithun’s good performance went wasted in this movie as the director even failed to present him well. POOR all the way!

INSAANWhat an excuse to sign Akshay and Ajay and waste them in this disaster. Also Tusshar, who had a good time with this KHAKEE team failed to make any impact. Rather than repeating their KHAKEE magic with a lighter, commercial film, the makers poorly messed up by making a violent, baseless movie out of nowhere. All the investments going in outdated movie with no music, no technique, no life at all! What more, it released on the same day as its sibling ELAAN!

BEWAFAAWhen I heard that a Darshan movie has made it to the average status, mostly due to patronage of family audiences, I was prepared that this could be one of those outdated flicks with an overdose of unrealistic emotions! How correct I was. I just love hating this movie which is more like an excuse for stupidity. I think even a great hit film like NO ENTRY doesn’t wash away such sins that Boney Kapoor’s production house has committed. Wasting great actors like Akshay, Anil, and Kareena while completely ruining the chances of reviving the careers of Shamita and Manoj! Poor story, poor everything, including music (which is very overrated by the way!)

EK KHILADI EK HASEENAOne reader here on MS said very well--EK BHIKARI EK KAMEENA. What a stupid movie. Even someone given a free chance to catch this flick would regret if he agrees to catch this movie. It is such a big waste of time. Every character is grey. Wow. No one is good. No one is bad. Everybody has mood swings. Movie swings from bad to worse to one of the worst as it makes to our review. A great music and lead couple going wasted in this excuse for copying Hollywood. A baseless movie with no chances of success from the word go!

PAHELIThe only movie starring SRK in a lead role. Well, no blaming the guy. Not to please his fans, but to be honest! I mean no matter who you put in this role, the movie won’t work. Making the country’s King Khan play a ghost is a ridiculous thought, especially when handled poorly. Mr. Palekar was a talented actor and people expected much more out of him. I know some die hard SRK fans in my family who refused to accept this movie. So you know how much it hams with its boring, outdated execution. This movie did run well initially and recovered its cost while also representing India in the OSCARS. But not much to look forward to, believe me. PAHELI is a major disappointment, despite featuring the biggest of the industry’s names!

SAHELILol. Just kidding. Tried to rhyme with PAHELI. Haha.

Okay, now we are in Half time. We continue with the rest five which will have only a brief description.

NEAL N NIKKIFinally the Chopras churning out a disaster that is almost intolerable. Wow. To me N&N was at least nearing the passable grade but overall considering the hype and hope going into it, it turned hypeless and hopeless within no time. A movie that had no script at all and was just an excuse to make another movie. Plain and simple. NEAL N NIKKI is a super flop and I won’t write much to stick to my commitment and besides, I wasted some time writing a review on it very very recently!

BUNTY AUR BABLIMust say Chopras didn’t lose it on the BO and popularity charts with this one. Even the Bachchans came out big. But must say the fans were losers as they had to bare this movie’s undeserved success. I mean one can easily say that this is one of the most hated, and yet successful movies of the year. At the same time? Well that’s ridiculous. That’s the only funny fact about B&B. Otherwise it was nowhere near being a good comedy as it got so many undeserved awards for being funny. Haha. I am not laughing. Crazy movie infact that had no genre at all. It was just all hype no substance case with SEL giving some good tunes and beats here and there.

SHABDAnother ridiculous movie with a shameful, ridiculous idea. How could someone as prominent like Aishwarya agree to sign a movie with such a cheap and unbearable storyline. How could a senior actor like Sanjay Dutt do the same? Mr. Zayed Khan has proven time and again that he has a poor movie choice but must say even he could’ve afforded to drop this one. Amazing how people make poor choices! The maker probably went crazy while having the idea of making this movie. At least that’s what the movie’s content indicates. It also got into legal trouble for offending the Sikh community as Zayed Khan once again took the stick. Poor guy. He should learn how to make his moves well rather than getting in trouble. For all to whim it may concern, SHABD was by all means a disastrous film with nothing going in its favor. It came with a bang and left without even a whisper.

KARAMAnother disastrous movie that tried to copy those HOLLYWOOD flicks and failed miserably. It had as usual a wooden John Abraham and a wasted Priyanka Chopra with some miserable performances added here and there by the rest of the starcast. Except for the song TINKA TINKA, this movie had only demented stuff to offer with crazy, violent events being the driving force behid the screenplay. Poor movie made with poor taste!

HOME DELIVERYLast but not the least, the most boring movie of year deserves to be here. There wasn’t anything in this movie, so I won’t write anything. Whatever little about this sleep flick, you can (if you don’t mind) check out my review on this movie that I wrote not too long ago.

Folks, do RRC please!
