"Thappad" uplifting the Indian war for feminism

I watched this movie on Amazon Prime as it is available there for quite sometime now. I enjoyed the message being conveyed more than the actual run throughs in the movie. Taapsee Pannu, here a housewife, leaves no stone unturned to keep her husband and the family of her in-laws satisfied but hell breaks loose when her husband slaps her infront of all at their house party. This slap might seem a meagre house matter but the slap brought to light all the instances where it was always the woman having to set the foot back. This view towards women was portrayed to be indifferent of the family class. Anubhav Sinha indeed ends on an unprejudiced note with the couple crossing ways. There are three stories running parallely one of their maid, the other of a conservative advocate family and the third of the third within Pannu’s home. The subtle symbolism used in the movie is appreciable and addresses a pivotal notion quite smoothly. It is a must watch for the new generation women out there. Taapsee Pannu is simply phenomenal as always. The musical score is mediocre. This plot is of the guessable kind so I kept my cool and tried not to rush ahead in the film. Other stars like Kumud Mishra, Pavail Gulati also play their part well. If you are a suspense action thrill person this movie is a no no for you but if you are more into the issue actually being addressed then do watch it.
