We have increased, rather multipled our possessions but reduced our values. We talk too much, and love very little, lie most of the times. We learned how to earn living, but not life. Added years to life but not the life to years. We spend much more but have less in return, we buy more but enjoy it less, we plan more but accomplish less.
Man has been all the way to the moon, but cant cross the small barriers and meet the neighbours with open minds. We have conquered outer space but not even touched the inner space. We split the atoms but not broken our prejudice. We have higher incomes with less morals, we have learned to rush always but not to wait. We build more computers for more information but still have less meaningful communication in that ratio. We are long on quantity and short on quality.
This is the time for ’fast’ foods with ’slow’ digestion, more variety of eatables but less (rather ’lost’) nutrition, tall men and short characters, wider profits and shallow relations. Its time of ’both’ earning and having "own space" but more divorces, big & beautifull houses but broken homes, implementation of ’free sex’ but without minds involved, (thou its said to be free sex, but must have to be indirectly purchased, how ridiculous), parents bringing up children carefully but then children throwing them to the dust bins.....so on and so forth. """""
The most of above holds good for almost 70% of humans living on the earth today ? Or may be more ! Where is the most precious creation of God (supposedly human being) on the earth heading to!! Probably towards destructions -destruction of Nature, forests, natural cycles, peace, minds, health, harmony, power resources, ozone layer & so many - the list is lonnnnng, with the outcome for destruction of our mother-earth, ultimately resulting to destroying the present life existence itself.
Just run our eyes around and in our-own-self too, oops, we find EVERYBODY running in the silly race till the breath from lungs is exhausted...and you know the race is with whom(?); no, not with the competitors or colleagues or any participants, its all virtual ! The real silly race is with the Money itself. Therz a continuous race between Money and Man. As if, money is always running ahead and we all are following it to catch hold of the maximum within the minimum time. I have seen, even in temples, many people visit in an athlete manner, as a formality to fulfill the psychological belief that.."Oh, I visited and touched God so my job of worship is over". If therz is a queue (as happens in the crowded temples), they cant even stand the waiting time required to reach inside, & start fulminating, as if busy like Prime Minister. Money has become pestilence too.
At what cost - at the cost of those sacrifices /losses said in the top- above. Is the price worth !!! Then when can we get time : to run behind the butterflies to watch their superb impossible-for-man color combinations, to look at the indefinite variety of leaves on trees, to watch the pleasant existence of starts and planets, to listen the bird’s songs n languages, to inhale the soft breeze during cool silent moonlights, to think for the hard routines of our border saving heroes (feeling it to heart n thanking some tears for them, for the demised ones during duties, is toooooo far ), sitting at the riversides n listening to our innermost piece n voice of soul..... Nope, all this is slowly becoming the past history, of which our next generations may only listen or read about.
Some can feel, this as pessimistic narration and thoughts. But rather than pessimistic or optimistic, isn’t it the Realistic picture! Atleast in India, its holding the ’realistic’ tag. Hell of corruption in every field. Politics in each aspect of life, right from the homes to national levels. Unhealthy politics playing role in schools, education, workplaces (rather workplaces have become playgrounds for harum-scarum natured personalities), social institutes...everywhere, making the lives miserable for straight simple innocent people. (Nyway, this is a separate in-depth topic, on which I may write some other time).
What are the reasons behind...the prime being monetary..& may be fame, power as second-third reasons. This has become a vicious circle from birth till death. Therz sometimes a myth heard today, that now-days the life span is increased due to science n inventions. But sory, its a myth, the death rate is certainly reduced but the life-span is also reduced, with most of the people saying bye-bye in the 60s - 70s.
Is this we are "living" life or "just surviving from yesterday to today till tomorrow " with the foolish satisfaction that we have those - Bigger houses, more degrees, more knowledge, more money to spend, more medicines & fast foods.... to support us ..........!!!
