The 5th Wave

Written by Rick Yancey, The 5th Wave was released in 2013.

The story revolves from the viewpoint of many people central to the story but the main protagonist is a 16 year old girl Cassie Sullivan.

Cassie tells the story of how the aliens came in their mother spaceship and did nothing for a few days. Suddenly all the power or "anything above a steam engine" was suddenly stopped. This was the 1st wave of attack by the aliens.

The 2nd wave was when the aliens dropped a rod from a very high point which caused a series of Tsunamic waves killing nearly 3 billion people.

The 3rd wave was a blood plague killing nearly all the rest of the humanity.

The 4th wave was the aliens already embedded inside a few humans who were to kill the survivors of the last 3 waves.

The book is the quest of the main protagonist Cassie to find her younger brother Sammy Sullivan and in the process finding what the final and the 5th wave is. Cassie explains all the history of the series of events in the course of the story.

This book is a must read for Sci-Fi and alien lovers.
