I write this review in absolute horror. I live in Vasant Kunj and when I spotted this quiet cafe I decided to spend some time alone reading my book. Please note that I entered around 8pm and I was the only person in the cafe. I ordered a cappuccino and was reading my book when the bill was abruptly kept on my table, rather loudly. It had been an hour, yes, but I asked the girl serving me that why was it assumed that I am not going to order another item? I should have been asked first.
To this, the man who claimed to be the owner of the cafe, started speaking very very rudely that he has not opened this cafe for people to come and read books and sit around for an hour. I pointed out that the cafe was empty and I was not really blocking a spot for anyone, to which he replied that it is not empty for me to sit around and that he has to pay for Air conditioning. He also said that staff had to brighten the lights for me because I was reading, I did not quite understand why he said this because I had never asked for this. Perhaps he was cringing because of electricity bill.
I tried telling him that cafes generally are places where people sit and spend time and its not really an express dhaba, also that in case there was a time limit I should have been told.
He was rude and beyond reasoning. Its been a mistake I entered this cafe.
This experience made me realize a few things though, rather important one.
1) There is a reason why some cafes are absolutely empty.
2) We take good service and good experiences in places we eat for granted. I stand guilty of not writing good reviews when service was impeccable( In Outer ring road Starbucks at CP, for example). I swear ill hunt and write good reviews for every place I have had a good time.
As for this place, not worth visiting cafes who do not understand the basic DNA of a cafe, let alone a bikers cafe. This bhaisaab is sitting with a ticking clock, so beware. There are better places in Vasant kunj who will not forcefully take your dignity with their service charges, trust me.
