Today morning witnessed a phone call ... a phone call to my boss ..claiming I was unwell. It was made by aliens who took over my body and made that phone call in my own voice.
Then they dragged my behind to PVR Saket where I watched the movie first day first show , which I had been tracking closely for almost 2 years now.
I know I came out drooling !
Why ? Heres why !
Nolans Batman .. in his original self ... in his Gothic best ... giving his utter class performance in an utterly hopeless Gotham .. trying to save the good men and women who still reside there from the likes of the Joker.
Directed by Christopher Nolan, this , movie witnessed Christian Bale reprising his role as the caped crusader, Aaron Eckhart as the District Attorney Harvey Dent , Gary Oldman as Commisioner Gordon, Michael Caine as Alfred and last and in no means the least Heath Ledger as the Joker.
When I started with the movie and Mr J made his first appearance it was totally mindblowing. I can only speak superlatives of Ledger, who is mad-crazy-blazing brilliant as the Joker. Miles from Jack Nicholsons broadway like take on the role in Tim Burtons 1989 Batman, Ledger takes the role to the shadows, where even whats comic is hardly a relief. No plastic mask for Ledger; his face is caked with moldy makeup that highlights the red scar of a grin, the grungy hair and the yellowing teeth of a hound fresh out of hell. To the clown prince of crime, a knife is preferable to a gun, the better to "savor the moment”.
Joker was a man without rules. He himself admits that - Joker was like a mad dog chasing a car .. didn’t know what he would do once he caught it.
The director used an IMAX camera to film six major action sequences, including the Jokers first appearance in the film. The Batsuit was redesigned, with a cowl allowing Bale to move his head. The film also introduces a recreation of the Batcycle, known as the Batpod.
It will be a great success, I guarantee, the gadgets (especially the Bat-Pod, responsible for a acclaimed action sequence ) are crazy and Heath Leger might receive a deserved indication for his Joker, a mixture of a fool/clown, schizophrenic, sadistic, and crazy. The guy delivered, got himself into the role and its unrecognizable. There will be no other Joker after him.
Rest in peace. Heath Ledger: 4/4/1979-1/22/2008.
