Take a moment to look at the cover of the movie. Look at the man standing with the light shining at him, looking onto the house he is about to enter, pausing for a moment , perhaps he is anxious or is he terrified? And who is this man, why is he here? You will be answer all these questions only when you rent the movie. Well here is how I became obsessed with The Exorcist, keep in mind I consider myself the greatest coward in the world, but this movie is my absolute favourite. Ironical but true.
The movie starts off with a mother and daughter and their lives. The mother being an actress for a director who is very erratic by nature , and the girl is a very sweet playfull child about 10-12 years of age. They have just shifted into this new house and the mother is busy working, there are also one old man and an old woman working to maintain the house and the mother has a personal secretary taking care os Regan (the little girl) and the mothers business.
While the mother is away, the girl is been playing with the ojha board, I think thats what it is called, anyway, the horror starts. From then on bizzare events start to come through, the daughter is no more the sweet child she was, she turns into this wicked and horrible creature, and the whole house hold suffers. The priest is called in, he himself is struggling with his faith, his guilt of leaving his mother and her passing away. Now he being called to perform an exorcism, which will only be possible if he believes in himself and his god.
The movie has very very disturbing visuals. And unlike most of the movies, The Exorcist lets the your imagination run wild, with its hear stopping moments, brilliant potrayal of a mother’s despair, problems of any human being with his faith and brilliant visuals this movie makes for some great viewing.
Make sure that you know what you are in for, believe me, this movie will scare the hell out of you the first time you see it, ( I personally hardly slept at night during the first week after) But then it is one of the most well made movies and that fact will be obvious to you, I am sure.
JUst one little wicked hint, I use this movie to scare people, make them see it with me, believe me it works , just the day before I scared my cousin sister to death, she is very upset at this moment, but hey makes me smile, so guess what, after you have scared yourself and have gotten over it, have fun scaring other people to death! hehehehe. well wickedness rubbed off just a little, I admit. So hey enjoy the movie and yeah remember not to see it alone the first time.
