Dominic(Vin Diesel) and Letty(Michelle Rodriguez) are on a honeymoon trip to Cuba. A street fight results into a car race where Dom’s cousin Fernando is in a debt with one named Raldo, and just to help him out Dominic challenges Raldo. The race ends with Fernando’s car going up in flames and crashing into a nearby lake. Dominic feels sorry for his cousin and gives him his own car, a glamorous Impala. Later, while going around the town, Dominic comes across a mysterious woman named Cipher(Charlize Theron) who on the pretext of putting something into her car calls Dominic by his name, and tells him that she knows each and every detail of his life. Furthermore, she somehow manages to convince him to work for her. Now, this lady, Cipher, is a cyber terrorist, who has in her captivity, Dom’s former girlfriend Elena Neves and their son. Dom has no option but to follow Cipher’s instructions to get hold of a nuclear device from the Defence Minister of Russia, in New York.
On the other side, Hobbs(Dwayne Johnson) is approached by an agent named Mr. Nobody(Kurt Russell) who tells him that he needs to retrieve a device that has the ability to set of Electro Magnetic Field or Potential from an army base located in Berlin. Mr. Nobody later brings in the rest of the team and helps Deckard Shaw(Jason Statham) to escape from a high security prison.
Dominic, who was a part of the team, seems to have gone against the rest, and everyone’s set to track and almost eliminate him as they have started to consider him as a rogue who has joined hands with Cipher to create a mass destruction using the EMP device. The chase continues to Russia where Cipher has her vicious plans to take over a nuclear submarine, using the EMP device, and start a nuclear war.
This movie hits action right from the beginning, with all the famous stars such as Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and Jason Statham. We really miss, Brian O’Conner(Paul Walker). Charlize Theron is really good at her villainous role, although not quite used to seeing her doing a negative role. Good to see Kurt Russell, great actor. Worth a watch.
