Are you tired with problems?
Are you in a frenzy that things do not happen the way you planned?
Do you have the feeling that your team is trying its best but still you are unable to improve?
Do you want to meet deadlines and avoid failures!?
Are you going home late, but still leave work incomplete?
The greatest thing about the book is the relation it makes to a supervisor/ Manager/ plant head to himself with the characters in the book. You are just easily able to co-relate yourself in the situation of either Alex Rogo, the plant head or Stacy or Bob.
We have Alex Rogo who has three months to save his plant. How he does it is the essence of the story.
But at the end using the five steps, of Theory of Constraints, Alex Rogo is able not just to save his plant from going for a stop, also his wife from going away from the marriage.
He starts spending more time with them and saves his life.
The story also gives how to measure things differently. Actually correctly we can say.
Somethings are really wonderful when the Jonah advises Alex theres no harm is stopping some people without work, if the goal is reaching.
Whats special about the story is:
The heros simple way of understanding
Logically explaining what he learnt
The consultant in the story making Alex understand the lessons of the new method by going through them rather than buying them!
The new systems of measurements make sense
The measurements can be used in many places successfully.
Finally I didnt just like Alex alone in the story, but the family was really motivating, Sharon the little girl, Dave(Alexs Son), Julie(wife). It was not like reading a book with some characters so far away in America but someone who may as well be my neighbor!
I recommended this book to my boss in Production and sales. Also I felt the company management is very right in keeping 5 copies of the book in our Library.
