The GIP is decidedly a good destination for families living in and around NOIDA, and this is borne out by the crowds that it attracts, espcially over the weekends.
However, getting access to the mall is a nightmare, what with potholed roads leading to it, a very unimaginative traffic management plan and support staff that is unable to react in the case of a traffic build up on the way to the parking bays.
There have been times when one has been stuck for almost 20-30 minutes trying to get into the parking lot underground. There are no lanes for exiting the mad rush, so once you are stuck in there, you can not leave to come back another time! Then there is the issue of exiting the mall. One has to drive almost a kilometre in one direction before being able to go in the other.
The mall management needs to open its eyes to these problems and train its staff better to pre-empt traffic snarls. I have already started avoiding going there because of the parking and am also advising other friends and relatives to conserve their time and fuel (both very precious commodities today!) by giving this place a miss. After all, who would want to go into a grand palace if there is a moat built around it as a deterrant? Wake up, guys, and smell the coffee!
