When I heard that Stan Lee wanted another remake of the Hulk movie, I knew it in my gut that the old timer had finally lost it !! All the previous HULK movies were quite the drag.** The one starring Eric Bana ( last one before this ) had really good special effects and could have been a hit but it gradually lost people’s interest due to lack of a solid story line.
The Incredible Hulk , as we know the latest Hulk movie, simply proved me wrong ... and I am glad it did. Hulk was only one of the Marvel movies not to do well in the Box office till now... the only bad penny of the lot.
But I would say this Hulk movie just made me hungry ... hungry for more !!
Here is why the movie is doing well :
1) In the previous movie Eric Bana, though is a good actor, already had a good physique. If you ask me the Hulk they showed in the 60’s movie would be about as big and strong as Eric himself... just green in colour.
Edward Norton, on the other hand provided a good contrast. He is a good actor but never for mainstream commercial cinema before this. He is thin and lean and the Hulk is HUMONGOUS so there is a major contrast. Its fun to see the transformation... !

2) All the previous movies had done was depict the sorrow in Bruce ..AKA .. HULK’s life. The fact that his creation was an accident .... that his girlfriend was hurt ... that the US army was on his green behind 24* 7... and that all he ever did in all the previous movies was destroy military equipment the tax payers paid for !
Now who wants to see a super hero run from the army and destroy property for 3 hours.
The Hulk needed an enemy besides the US Govt. He needed a chance to prove that he was good and actually make the army look bad. Here he has a foe and an ugly one at that. Everyone loves to see ugly villains get popped.

Directed by Loius Leterrier, this movie stars Liv Tyler as Betty Ross, Bruce...AKA Hulk’s love interest.
You dont mess with the Hulk’s girlfriend or else ... HULK mAD .... HULK ANGRY ... HULK KICK YOUR HIENEY !!
Last but not the least (not disclosing much) , you would get a surprise visit from another famous Marvel hero who comes in at the end and offers the army to track HULK down.
*A suggestion towards a combo movie next time ..... mmm ... maybe .... who knows what’s cooking in that old timer’s head !!
