I too am surprised at the review by certain Ms.Hegde. I have been to this resort on three different occassions. In the months of May, August and January. I found it an extremely serene place to spend my time away from the hectic life of Bombay. On my first visit in May last year, I was told beforehand that Air-conditioning is not available. being May I was a bit worried but I was assured that this being a jungle resort with lot of greenery, evenings would be cooler. Right enough, barring the two hours in the afternoon, the entire day climate was very pleasant. Rooms though not 5 star quality, were largely comfortable and spacious. Enough space for parking with a pleasant gesture of one of the staff cleaning my car squeaky clean on the day I was leaving! at no extra cost! what I tipped him was out of my own satisfaction. Yes not having a bell in the room to call for room service was a bit of a problem but then the environment around was so homely that one could easily walk upto the dining hall without having to dress up! For my second trip in August too, I was forewarned that Its been raining heavily and drying their linen has been a problem so if I could carry my own extra towels etc! I actually like them telling me this as it felt that they were taking me into confidence! When I went their it indeed was raining heavily, there was lot of water logging in the parking area! we parked wherever we got a place. On my first visit I knew that there was enough space so I could understand that the parking problem was due to inclement weather and not a fault of the resort owners! The staff tried their best to make our stay comfortable. As far as food was concerned, being used to eat early I did face a problem with food being served as late as 9 / 9.30 pm . But upon telling them, the next day about my problem, the staff tried to provide me with some of the dishes for early dinner at 8. I do agree with Hegde in the fact that the room had water seepage and the walls had the dampness! I spoke to the resort owner regarding this. But I had also witnessed the heavy rains so I knew that this was unavoidable! It was the first year of the resort and this was their learning curve! I liked the fact that he actually sat down with us and discussed his problem and how best he can get to resolve it in the coming years!
This january when I visited again, I was delighted to see that they now had rooms with A/c, better planned landscape and preparation to build a swimming pool! You bet Im visiting this resort again!
So all said and done! not only would I recommend this place to all those who seek a quiet sanctum for 3 days away from everything stressful! But I would also visit again and atleast once every year
And yes! I did take my pet .a labrador there! being a female lab, I was worried about other dogs on the horizon! the resort owners told me that .that is one thing that they cant help;) so I should ensure that she should not get naughty!lolz. But she had a great time with so much space to run about! being holed up in an apartment in Bombay, to her it was emancipation of sorts! on the third day I was a bit worried whether shez going to come back with me or not!
so thumbs up to jungle resort and its owners!
